Hello! My name is Ingrid and I live in Beijing, China where I am fostering a 15 month old girl with congenital anophthalmia in both eyes. She has no eyeballs and no wiring at all. She has not had conformers put in yet and I was wondering if it's too late for her. The doctors here recommend she gets them at age five, but I think that is way to late. She is a beautiful girl and as of now, has no other problems.

I have 3 groups of people that want to help Tian Xia get her conformers, but I'm hoping it's not too late.

HI Ingrid! From my understanding, it's not too late! But, it seems waiting until 5 years might be. The only thing you can do is try. My son's had bilat micro which is a lot different when it comes to conformer treatment but they have helped his appearance immensely. He didn't have his first set until 9 months and his 2nd set at 11months. We didn't know how aggressive we should be until we attended the ICAN conference and heard the discussions from speakers and other families. Most things are about chance and each child is different. I say go for it. Good luck! April

Ingrid, I agree with April. It's not too late, but I wouldn't delay any longer in getting treatment. The sooner the better. Good luck.
