My son was born with a scerlocornea/coloboma in his right eye and is blind. His left eye has no globe, anophthalmia. The specialists are saying his only chance for sight is an artificial cornea or keratoprosthesis or k-pro. Has anyone had this done on their child or know anyone who has? We were looking for someone who could share their personal experience with us. We've been informed/educated on the procedure, etc but really wanted to hear from someone who's infant or young child has actually had it done. We only really have one shot and want to be well informed before we make a final decision. Our baby is 10 weeks old and they say it needs to be done very early. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
