Anyone from Australia?

Hi my name is Karen and i'm new to this site.
I am a mother of two from Australia and am interested in talking to other ppl from Oz who have a child with a similar condition to mine. My first born, Nathanael was born is two and his eyes are fine.
Charlotte is almost 9 months old and was born with uni anophthalmia. Her left eye is 'normal'.
Charlotte didn't get her first conformer til she was about 4mths old and may have her first painted eye by the end of the year. So far she has had one CT scan, months ago but we never heard anything more about it.
Is genetic testing something that we should look into? we have no family history..

i was just interested in others experiences and if anyone knows of other good sites, for info and talking to parents :)

Karen, just saw your post on this site and i live sydney, where are you? I have a 13 month old daughter with unilateral microphthalmia. She was also born with Hydrocephalus. She just got fiited with her first hand painted conformer today and we get to bring it home on 3/10, very exciting. She started clear conformers at 4 months and has had about 4 all up until this new hand painted one will be her 5th. Would love to make contact with you, as in Australia, we don't seem to have any supprt groups for these conditions.
