I am not an expert, but we were told when our son was diagnosed with bilat micro that the eyes develop at the same time as all midline structures, so yes they could be related. He had to go through every medical test there was to see if he had any other medical problems or abnormalities and we saw a neurologist ASAP and followed up with him for almost 2 years. Again I am not a physician, but they definitely could be related.

Hello Michelle, My Name Is Maricelda And I Have A 1year Old Named Madison Born With Bilateral Micro As Well. Just Wondering, We Were Told That She Was Born With A Cataract In Her Right Eye, But That There Wasn't Pretty Much Anyhting That Could Be Done To The Cataract. I Saw That You Posted That Your Baby Had The Cataracts Removed? Madison Does Have Some Vision To Both Eyes, We Just Ain't Sure How Much Until She Starts Talking. We Just Saw Her Ocularist Last Week, And She Didn't Have To Use The Conformers Right Now Until She Gets A Little Older As Per The Ocularist. We Are From Texas And Drive Five Hours Away To Houston, Tx To See Her Ocularist And Opthamologists. Just Wondering If You Could Give Me A Little Info About The Cataract Removal And If So Did It Help Some With Your Babys Vision? Thank You And Have A Great Day!!
