Hi Tara
My son is 2-1/2 and had bilat micro and wears clear conformers in both eyes. He too hates having them removed, so we don't do it very often. We are still lucky he is small enough that I basically "straddle" him. I lay him flat on the floor, put his arms at his side and basically sit on him, but not hard enough to hurt him, but just enough to hold him down. My husband has to help hold his head sometimes, but his is getting better and just crying and not fighting too much. Even at the occularists office, he sits in my lap, put my legs over his and hold his arms over his head next to his face. The vertical hold I call it. However, he knows now that when we go see Greg to put his arms up.

I know it can be frustrating and kids so young just don't understand. I wish I had better ideas other than the "straddle" hold. We have not gotten there yet! It's usually easier to get in though than get out. I know as they get older they get bigger/thicker. I pry open his eye and insert and hope its stays the right way!!!

Good luck
Michelle
