Hi, April. I'm sorry to hear of your distress over your daughter's situation. Are the microphthalmia and PHPV in the same eye, and is there vision in the affected eye? What is the condition of the other eye? Also, where do you live (city, state)?

You should post on the Yahoo Microphthalmia group, which gets much more traffic than the ICAN forum. If you want to email me, I'm slabelson@gmail.com.

I am sorry to hear that april and i understand your situation, but I would suggest going for another surgery. But before that ask you doctor about chances of success, risks and all. removing the eye would sure shot take away your child's sight but with another surgical procedure, at least there is some hope.

Hi I April, sorry for your daughter. Please ask for the doctor if any other solution of microphthalmia and PHPV are available. some times laser operation may also beneficial for the eyes. is your daughter both eyes infected or only one. try to approach other doctor too. best of luck

yes, I will also suggest you for laser operations. It is better than any other treatment.

I am really sorry. Well, I think removing eye is not a solution. You first take a second opinion from other doctor and ask them for any other solution on this. Also, you can get more information by searching internet also. I am sure there are many people in the world who had suffered form this. And they might posted some solution also. Just suggesting you don't go for removing eye because after all it is question of whole life.
