Susan, I adopted a child with anophthalmia about 5 1/2 years ago. I just found out about this site through the ocularist who treats my daughter. You might be interested in doing a correspondence course with the Hadley School for the Blind. Even though I adopted my child when she was already 7+ years old, I did the first course on parenting a blind child and it was very helpful.
