Hi! My 14mo old got her first prosthetic eyes made from impressions they took. But they won't stay in. I finally had the occularist make conformers to put back in. At least they stay in and if they do come out are easy to put back in because of the stems. Anyone else have this problem? How did it get fixed? I heard about a peg that goes behind the eye but can't seem to find if it works for growing children. Thanks for you help.

I am sorry, I don't have any advice for you, other than discussing with your occularist or maybe finding another one?

Sorry, wish I could help you on this one

Good luck

I am almost 30 & I wear a prosthetic eye & to my recolection I don't think I ever had that problem. I agree that you should talk about it w/ your occularist. He/she may have some suggestions as to what to do. Sorry I'm not much help either.

I know I'm replying to this post months later but my 11 yr old son Danny had his prosthetic fall out a few times but it was because it needed to be made thicker and wider to stay in the eye. I have heard about the peg, I actually have a pamphlet about the Bioeye. It's where they put a coral orb in the socket and attach a peg to the prosthesis but my son Danny still has his existing eye until he has finished growing, so it's not an option to consider for several more years. But your ocularist should be able to make it where the eye stays in place.

You may already have a solution to your problem but I wanted to say that our son had his first set of conformers that fell out all the time. ONce the occularist made them larger, we didn't have any problems. My son has micro so I'm not sure if that helps you. Good Luck
